Individual psychotherapy is the practice of tending to the most important relationship of your life: the one you have with yourself.
My approach is highly trauma-informed and focuses on “parts work” – a technique that helps to break things down and address patterns. The main modality I work with is Schema Therapy, but I incorporate a variety of other approaches and techniques depending on what you’re struggling with. I often incorporate nervous system education into my sessions, which is especially helpful for those affected by varying degrees of trauma (as a wise therapist once said: the body keeps the score!).
Depending on the client, I might set some creative homework in between session such as journaling prompts, creative experiments or readings.
I can help you with:
- PTSD & CPTSD (including sexual abuse)
- BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder)
- anxiety
- depression
- relationship problems
- sexuality, gender questioning, relationship questioning
- eating disorders
- bereavement & grief
- NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder)
My training:
- Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology: Psychotherapy specialisation (5 years)
- Schema Therapy post-graduate qualification (an approach for working with personality disorders and attachment trauma)
- Accredited Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversities Therapist (Pink Therapy)
- Food coaching certificate: impact of food on mental health; working with binge-restrict cycles; psychology of eating
- Additional CPD, workshops, trainings – I’m always learning 🙂
